World Bee Day

The United Nations have designated that the 20th of May is World Bee Day. This  year it falls on Monday.

Bees and other pollinators are increasingly under threat, one of the continuing issues is the destruction of the countryside.

Pollination is a fundamental process for the survival of our ecosystems. For example 90% of the world’s flowering crops, 75% of the world’s food crops  and 35% of global agricultural land.

 This is another reason why concreting over vast amounts of the countryside is such a bad idea.
